Turmeric, Ginger & Lemon Tea

This spicy and supercharge Turmeric, Ginger & Lemon tea works wonders to treat a cold, sore throat, cough, seasonal allergies, fatigue, chronic pain, and digestive complaints.  My go-to recipe if I feel a cold coming on.  I often make it just as a preventative tea.

This winter wellness elixir is packed with health promoting antioxidants which detoxify the liver and blood, and kick start digestion. Add a little bit of honey or maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. I prefer to use fresh ginger and turmeric whenever I can find them if not I’ll go for powedered.

Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties.

Ginger is great for digestion, combats nausea and is also anti-inflammatory and antiviral.

Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, a water-soluble vitamin and powerful antioxidant required for the growth and repair of body tissues.


  • 2 cups boiling water
  • a piece of turmerci the size of a pinky finger or 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • a piece of ginger the size of a thumb or  1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 Fresh lemon sliced
  • Honey – optional


Boil all the ingredients together for 10 minutes.  The longer you let it sit, the stronger it is.  I often leave it cool and drink it warm or cold.  Enjoy! 🙂
